This was the sight awaiting Nate when he put Carter to bed this evening. In case you couldn't tell, that is Kennedy with her blanket wrapped completely over her head and face and tucked underneath her. No worries, she was breathing just fine and Nate took away the blanket. I guess this would be the sort of thing they refer to when they say not to put blankets in babies cribs. I just couldn't believe it wasn't bothering her. She is certainly old enough now to roll over/sit up/take off something like that. Crazy! Here's a closeup.

Babies
Babies come in all shapes and sizes and at all times of year in all sorts of places. Some babies for instance, come in your car as your driving to the hospital with your three kids piled in the back. I sit here with my friend Kari's kids who I just picked up from the entrance to the ER at 6:00am feeling quite grateful that neither of mine have come that way. Luckily both mother and baby are doing fine!

Look at me!
Kennedy is such a happy baby and has brought such joy into our home. She is finally sitting up all by herself (it took her 8 months to get there) and she has left the army crawl behind for the more conventional method. As you see she is also pulling up on pretty much everything and working on balance. She loves her brother and is constantly getting into things she shouldn't. She loves to eat paper, and as you can see by the second photo she loves our Trio blocks almost as much as Carter does.
One evening a few weeks ago she decided to wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed when we put Carter to bed around 9:00pm. She spent the next hour and a half on the living room floor tearing apart Carter's current Trio block creation. She pretty much had that look on her face the entire time. If she wasn't so darn cute we would have been really annoyed--little turkey!
Happy Valentine's Day
Well the time has finally come. I am now the proud owner of my own gun. I never thought the day would come, but it has. The pictures depict how Nate gave it to me. It was my Valentines gift, complete with the homemade card (bottom pic). I don't know a whole lot about it yet, but I do know it comes with a handy little laser especially for me so I can just point and shoot without having to focus too hard--just the way I like it. So here's to many target shooting dates in the future. Needless to say, Nate is extremely excited about "my" present.
Just an FYI: We keep our firearms properly locked away where the kiddos can't get to them. However, Carter will be learning gun safety much earlier than I ever would have imagined my kids would. Nate has already been asking at what age he can take Carter shooting. I think four is a little young. But since we live in Kentucky I guess we might as well embrace the local culture!

Cousins
Nate's sister Emily was in town this past week with her kids Zoe and Titan. We were determined to get a picture of all of them together. I think it actually turned out pretty good considering. We had so much fun with them here. We can't wait to see them again in a few months.
Precious Little Moments
One of my favorite things about having two adorable kids is that whenever we get in the car, Kennedy automatically reaches her hand out to Carter and they hold hands for awhile. Isn't that adorable! Just had to share. I'll have to try to get a picture of it sometime.
