The Birthday Cake

I threw Carter a 1st birthday party at our midweek playgroup. It was baseball themed and I served hotdogs and Cracker Jacks. Here is the cake and cupcakes. My friend Erika and I slaved over them for a few hours. Really she did most of the work, but hey, I helped.

Playing Catch

Carter loves to play with balls. Usually he just likes to bat and chase them around. But he'll play catch every once in awhile. Here he is playing catch with daddy. Oh, and the video's do work. I'm not sure why they loaded with black screens. But if you press play twice they do load.

Silliness

Carter was being so silly. He often tries to eat the inside of that red pan. But then again, he tries to eat everything!

Toy Box

Carter's new favorite thing to do is to climb into his toy box. He does it several times a day. He also loves to tip it over and dump all the toys out. Our poor cardboard box has taken quite a beating. I'm sure I'll have to find another one soon. But he has tons of fun.

Update

That's a Bengals hat. Too bad they have been pretty lousy this year! Oh, and the hat is Nates, which is funny because I can't get Carter to keep any hats on, but he'll wear his daddy's.

I know it has been awhile since I've posted, so I'll try to get things caught up. Part of the problem is that I just haven't taken many pictures lately. I need to work on that. But Carter is now 10 months old and 21 lbs. He is a growing boy and is getting into everything. He is trying really hard to walk, but isn't quite there yet. I am sure it will be soon though. He cruises all over the house and walks from the chair to the couch and stuff. If he would just slow down a bit I'm sure he would figure it out sooner. I think he might skip walking and go straight to running. I call him my little bulldozer because he tends to just plow through everything. He sure is fun.

Teeth

Well, here are Carter's teeth--upclose and personal. If you can't tell, this is a high chair picture, hence the food all over his face. He has had these two teeth for a couple of months and his third (up top) just came through last week. Teething seems to make him a bit crabbier and he wakes up at night more often also.
