The Wedding

Well, as many of you know we took a week long road trip a couple of weeks ago as we made our way to Washington DC for Nate's little brother's wedding.  We had a wonderful time and the kids were great for most of it.  I plan on doing separate posts for each leg of the trip but I will go ahead and start with the wedding--since it is the only thing currently on my camera.  We arrived on Thurs. morning to the DC temple on a gloriously beautiful day.  I stayed outside with the kiddies while everyone else went inside for the wedding.  We had a wonderful time and are happy to have a new addition to the Nelson family.

Big Fish

Nate got Carter his own fishing pole and tackle box for this spring/summer.  They took the opportunity a couple of days ago on Nate's day off to go fishing at grandpa's pond.  Several fish were caught and fun was had by all.  Carter apparently really liked the worms--such a boy!  He caught the biggest catch of the day--the catfish he's holding above.  Nate, as you can see, didn't fair quite as well.  I foresee many happy outings in their future.

Still got it

So yesterday I went to our local Museum Center for a weekly playgroup.  Apparently it is spring break for several counties because the place was packed. Right before leaving, the kids played in the sand so I had to help put shoes and socks back on.  So here I am, on my knees bent over helping Carter put his shoes back on.  I start to get that funny, someone's watching me vibe and looked up to see some 15 year old boy totally looking down my shirt!  He was startled that I caught him at it and promptly relocated to another area.  It was hilarious.  I don't know whether to feel annoyed or flattered.  It's not everyday this 30 year old mom lugging around 2 kids and a stroller gets checked out by an adolescent boy.

30

I turned 30 today.  How do I feel about it?  It's just another day like any other.  I certainly don't feel any different.  Thanks to all those that took the time to wish me a good one.  It is nice to feel the love of family and friends!
Kennedy spent several happy minutes at our local UDF playing with a spoon.  Who needs toys when you can use utensils?
Fun in a laundry basket.  Carter has decided to make it his own little bed of late and he invited Kennedy in for a quick snuggle.

Check ups

Carter and Kennedy went to the Dr. a couple of weeks ago for their 4 year and 9 month check ups.  I decided after that appt. that I wouldn't take them together again.  It was awful since Carter got 4 shots and Kennedy got 2.  I'm glad Carter won't need shots for a few years because these ones traumatized him.  He got a really high fever and limped around for three days because his leg hurt where the vaccines were given.  I thought I was going to pull my hair out when that first night he insisted on being carried everywhere because he couldn't walk.

Anyway I thought I'd start posting their stats online.  So here they are.

Carter--4 years old
Weight 37 lbs.=65%
Height 40 1/2 inches=50%

Kennedy--9 months
Weight 17lbs 11 oz.=30%
Height 28 inches=70%
Boxes are so much fun.  Carter and Kennedy had fun playing in this one until Daddy broke it.  Oh, and Nate thought it was a great product plug since he works for P&G who makes Pampers.
And here is my adorable little one.  The above picture shows how she feels about the headbands I put on her and the one below shows how cute she looks when she actually keeps one on.  The one below only stayed on for a few minutes I might add.
